The Rhythm-&-Blues-Band consists from US-amerikan singers Jimmy Helms, George Chandler and Jimmy Chambers, as well as the producer and sowie dem Produzenten und multiinstrumentalist Willy M.
Londonbeat was most famous for the clear falsetto voices, mainly of Jimmy Helms, who had an own Top-10-Hit in the early 70s with „Gonna Make You an Offer You Can’t Refuse”. The band was formed out of the vocal-band “Beatjockeys”, that was also singing backup vocals for Paul Young. 1988 Londonbeat was the first band that received a recording contract with Dave Stewart’s new label “Anxious”.
Their final break-through Londonbeat gained in autumn 1990 with “I’ve Been Thinking About You” which reached the number one spot in 27 countries. Further chart hits have been “A Better Love”, “No Woman, No Cry” and “You Bring on the Sun”. “I’ve Been Thinking About You” also reached the pole position in the US-American Dance Charts.
